Our daily diet has a very vital connection with our health. Individuals who don’t take a balanced diet are deprived of the goodness of health and are unable to maintain fitness. Food and nutrition is a science that deals with the well being of the body and in this regard, food is the main ingredient of our life. Where our diet fulfills our biological necessities, our eating and drinking habits affects our social, personal and emotional life. Where nature has given us plenty of food in various forms, it has also given us the knowledge and intelligence to find the diet that is most nutritional and fit for us. For this, our regular diet needs to include the following components:
  • Vitamins
  • Minerals
  • Fats
  • Water
  • Carbohydrates and fats
To consume the right amount of vitamins and minerals, fresh fruits and vegetables are very important because these provide our body with energy and nutrition.
Carbohydrates need to be consumed in a very controlled amount, since excessive carbohydrates can cause build up of fat in the body. Fat contain the most amount of carbohydrates and excessive consumption of this causes cholesterol levels to increase in the blood and as a result heart problems are caused. This is why diet should be balanced in all aspects.
Different people need different amounts of nutritional components of food. This is why diet should be chosen based on the daily routine and physiological needs of a person, so that the body can get the right amount of energy.
Our body needs water for reproductive purposes and to completely absorb the energies of the minerals on its in-taking. That is why according to various diets, seasons, and biological necessities, consumption of water is important. According to diet experts, six glasses of water should be taken everyday. The quantity can be increased in the summer when it is hot, as it keeps the body function working properly.
Minerals play an important role in the functioning of the body. These affect our blood, bones, veins and muscles in different ways. They make the transportation of water in the body more efficient. Minerals keep the nervous system functioning and keep the blood from clotting. If the level of acidic and basic materials in the body increases, minerals inside the body help to keep them balanced. That is why minerals like iodine, chlorine, magnesium, potassium, sodium and iron should be included in everyday diet.
Vitamins are chemical compounds that are necessary for the proper functioning and well being of the body. Even though vitamins don’t have any connection with energizing the body, but they are needed for the natural system of the body to work. In case of vitamin deficiency various diseases and deformities can be caused like blindness, gum diseases and so forth. Hence, a balanced diet not only keeps you healthy, but it also keeps you away from various diseases.
